Description: 2.25” long steel case containing a sand glass. 15 inscribed on the bottom and a steel loop for suspending it at the top. It runs for15 seconds. The use of 15 seconds as a duration for timing the pulse was quite popular. This was a long enough time to give a reasonable estimate and short enough to not seem to prolong the exam. The pulse is a hallmark of health throughout history and dating back to early China.
