Category: Electricity
Estimated Date: 1921
Name: Electrotherapy Apparatus
Manufacturer: Fischer

Description: 12.5” x 7” x 6.5“box contains a marbelized top on a compartment with five glass tubes in the lid. There is also a cautery and poles to connect the devices to the transformer. The glasses, a variety of which are shown from the Fischer catalogue are high frequency electrodes and were used to provide electric therapy in deep seated parts of the body. They come in a wide variety of shapes. One of the electrodes is shown connected to the insulated handel. These sets are a crossover between the quackery of the Tesla Coil (great examples at this site) www.electrotherapymuseum.com/2008/Darkerwaters/index.htm and more legitimate electrotherapy.
